# Total Value Locked (TVL)

The Total Value Locked (TVL) metric tracks the total amount of assets locked within DeFi protocols on Solana. It is a key indicator of the health and growth of Solana's DeFi ecosystem. TVL gives users a clear sense of how much capital is being committed to Solana-based DeFi projects. To give a clearer picture of TVL the chart has can be viewed over different time frames including all-time, YTD, 12 months, 3 months, and 1 month.
